Allow me to share with you the words to an old hymn by the same title “The Blood Shall Never Lose Its Power”:
The blood that Jesus once shed for me,
As my Redeemer, upon the tree;
The blood that setteth the pris’ner free,
Will never lose its pow’r.
It gives us access to God on high,
From “far off places” it brings us nigh;
To precious blessings that never die,
It will never lose its pow’r.
It is a shelter for rich and poor,
It is to Heaven the open door;
The sinner’s merit forevermore,
It will never lose its pow’r.
And when with all the blood washed throng
We sing in glory redemption’s song;
We’ll pass the glorious truth along,
It has never lost its pow’r.
It will never lose its pow’r,
It will never lose its pow’r;
The blood that cleanses from all sin
Will never lose its pow’r.
Andrae Crouch added a few verses to this hymn when he said:
The blood that Jesus shed for me,
way back on Calvary;
the blood that gives me strength
from day to day,
it will never lose its power.
It soothes my doubts and calms my fears,
and it dries all my tears;
the blood that gives me strength
from day to day,
it will never lose its power.
It reaches to the highest mountain,
it flows to the lowest valley;
the blood that gives me strength
from day to day,
it will never lose its power.
ALLOW ME TO SHARE WITH YOU MAN’S GREATEST NEED
Sin has separated man from God. To be separated from God at death means to spend eternity in Hell, because God will not excuse sin, and sin must be punished. Man is sinful, but God is holy. The blood of Jesus Christ is God’s way of meeting man’s greatest need.
ALLOW ME TO SHARE WITH YOU GOD’S GREATEST SACRIFICE
God sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die on the cross as the payment for your sins. Romans 3:25 says, “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood…” Notice that it was God’s plan, not man’s: “Whom God hath set forth…” Secondly, notice that Christ died to pay for our sins: “…to be a propitiation…” Finally, this verse states that forgiveness is obtained simply by trusting what Jesus has done: “…through faith in his blood…” Because of the blood, God can show mercy to sinners, yet still remain holy and just. Romans 3:26 says, “…That he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”
ALLOW ME TO SHARE WITH YOU WHAT JESUS’ BLOOD WILL DO?
1. The blood washes and cleanses you from sin. Revelation 1:5 says, “Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.” 1 John 1:7 says, “…And the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
2. The blood pays for your forgiveness. Ephesians 1:7 says, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins…”
3. The blood makes peace with God. Colossians 1:20 says, “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself…”
4. The blood saves you from God’s wrath. Romans 5:9 says, “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
5. The blood opens the way to Heaven. Hebrews 10:19 says, “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.”
ALLOW ME TO SHARE WITH YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO DO?
1. Admit your need. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Psalm 51:3 says, “For I acknowledge my transgressions…” Psalm 38:18 says, “For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.”
2. Trust God’s promises completely. Acts 16:31 says, “…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” Ephesians 2:8-9 states, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” 1 Peter 1:18-19 tells us, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”
3. Cry out to God in prayer. Luke 18:13 says, “…God be merciful to me a sinner.” Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
NOW, DEAR FRIEND, ALLOW ME TO SHARE WITH YOU THE GREATEST DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE
Jesus shed His blood, was buried, and rose again on the third day. At this moment He stands ready, able, and willing to save you. The choice is yours. A song says, “If the blood of Christ is sufficient for God, it is surely sufficient for me.” It is the blood that satisfies God.
Why not put your trust in Christ’s finished work, and call on Him for salvation now? Hebrews 7:25 says, “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” Revelation 1:5 says, “…Jesus Christ…loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,”
If you will accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, please pray this prayer with all of your heart: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.
Before we close, allow me to share with you the words to another old hymn titled, “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus”:
What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
For my pardon, this I see,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my cleansing this my plea,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Nothing can for sin atone,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
Naught of good that I have done,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
This is all my hope and peace,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
This is all my righteousness,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Now by this I’ll overcome–
Nothing but the blood of Jesus,
Now by this I’ll reach my home–
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Glory! Glory! This I sing–
Nothing but the blood of Jesus,
All my praise for this I bring–
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
